And they think that "Handmaid's Tale" will be the result of conservative / Christian / patriarchal culture??

How much of the Christian negativity towards surrogacy is coming really from a heart of not wanting to see gay men have children? This is not fair to heterosexual couples with good reason to pursue surrogacy.

The "primal wound" theory is just a theory. Just for the record, I'm a woman. In my case, my husband and I struggled with infertility and our embryos kept dying in my womb. I was told the best chance I had for my embryos to survive was to find another woman to carry for me. This wasn't just "adult desires" -- God commands us to be fruitful and multiply and I did the best I could as a mother (and my husband as a father) what we medically were told was best for the survival of our embryos (we had three frozen embryos.) Did you know that Jewish leaders today say that reproductive technologies are not optional, but are mandatory for couples struggling with infertility, in order to keep God's command in Genesis?

I did not relish the idea of another woman carrying my baby for me but in the end I am greatful to a sister in Christ for being willing to put her life on the line for the life of my child and today we have a beautiful baby who we will raise to love Jesus and follow Him all the days of His life. We have another sister in the Lord volunteering to carry our other two for us.

These woman are heros but they are not our children's mothers. I am their mother. To call someone a mother simply because she offered her womb to save a child's life is not right. They don't want that title and it is disingenuous. My son's DNA says that I am his mother. For millennia there have been "wet nurses" who nursed children when their own mothers' breasts would not work, and offering a womb to incubate a baby is another version of this. If you've been blessed to have children easily and naturally, please stop ruining other peoples' lives with judgmental and condemning propoganda that does not listen to reason.
